Every equippable item in Pioneers of Aethora is considered either a Weapon or Armor (not anymore, we have medpacks and storage equipment!). Note: these screenshots have been updated so that the ratings are accurate.

[edit] Weapons

Weapons have either one or two skills associated with them, and for each of those skills they have damage and speed. Generally, when viewing a weapon, the last statistic is rating, which is based on the damage and speed (note: a second skill on a weapon will add to it's rating). The higher these stats are, the better - higher damage will strengthen your actions and higher speed means lower cost of action points.

Here's one example - a rusty dagger. You can see the damage is 5 and the speed is 62. The only skill you get to use with this dagger is Short Blades. It's rating is 31.

Another example - a basic fire cylinder. This weapon is only good for enabling the Fire skill. It has a damage of 10, a speed of 50, and a rating of 50.
