Markets

Pioneers of Aethora has a marketing system that may seem different than many RPGs. Any player can purchase a Support Character and set them up as a vendor, and then post any items/equipment from that character's inventory up for sale.

Non-player shops also exist. Non-player shops allow players to sell off items they don't want to list in the player market. At non-player shops, a player can also purchase generic, overpriced items.

[edit] Shopping

To shop, first you'll have to travel to a market. There's one in Hopitan, just south of Hopitan Square. Once there, you'll notice a link on the page that says Buy and Sell Items. Click that link to enter the trading area of the market.

You'll see a list of items up for sale. To buy an item, make sure you select which character you want to receive the item (the dropdown selector at the top) and then click on the buy link.

[edit] Setting up a Vendor

At the bottom of this same page, you should see a heading labeled My Vendors in Hopitan Market. To designate a character as a vendor, choose them from the list and click the button that says Start vending with this character.

NOTE: You can only use Support Characters as vendors, not regular characters. This change was implemented in mid-August, 2008.

After you've designated a character as a vendor, the Set Prices screen is pretty self-explanatory.
